 Food and its importance

We all know that energy is the prime factor for the functioning of human body. For the proper functioning of our body its most importantly, sufficient amount of energy is required. Energy can be obtained predominantly from the food what we eat in our day to day life.
This is the article written to give  an insight towards the following topics
  • How the food gets digested?
  • How the cells are converting the digested food in an energy form?
  • What are all the nutritiousness of food and its quantity
In the recent 200 years the science have invented lot of facts about food. But many saints and enlightened masters had invented very deep insights about food and human body lightly 2000 years before.
The science of food is an ancient  in our country especially. Knowing about the facts of food and living style is an essential art in the olden days. Especially Ayurveda, Siddha and Tantric Yoga possesses lot of truth and facts about food and human body.
Composition of food:
The modern science says that the nutrients of foods are divided into three  different factors,
  • Protein
  • Carbohydrate
  • Cholesterol
Apart from these three factors there are many more factors plays a vital role such as, vitamins, minerals, fibre and finally water.
The energy level of food is measured in terms of Calorie by our modern science.
For example
  • 1gm protein releases approximately 4 calories
  • 1gm carbohydrate releases approximately 4 calories
  • 1gm Cholesterol    releases approximately 6 calories
How food get digested?

From the digested food the required amount of energy/calorie will get absorbed by small and large intestines through a minute absorber called Villi. The sucked nutrients get mixed into blood and spreads into various organs of our body.
The required amount of water will be sucked by large intestine in our body.
Once the necessary nutrients and water is sucked from the digested food the rest of material becomes feces and gets accumulated into bowl later which are excreted through anus.
The digested food gets converted into glucose before injected into blood. The converted glucose coated with insulin before fed to a cell. From the blood, insulin coated glucose absorbed by a cell and it burns with the help of mitocandriya to convert into an energy.
The excess amount of glucose gets accumulated/saved into liver in the form glycogen and in the form of cholesterol in the skin.
Science suggests same food for all human kind. Whereas, ancient/vedic science gives minute information about food and body. Based on type of human body and food it gives several classification who can eat what and how?
Nature of food
The following methods are used for food classifications.
All food items are classified into two category based on the factors acidic or base.
Based on taste also food can be classified. Tastes plays a vital role for the appropriate functioning of humans major organs like, heart. Intestines, spleen, pancreas, intestines, lungs and kidney.
Foods are classified further based an vatha(related to air energy), pitha(related to fire energy) kapa(related to water energy).
Lastly based on the shuttle energies called pirana, thejas, ojas foods are classified.

The factors which helps for better digestion:
There are five gaseous elements and nine fire elements helps to digest the food and to convert into an g form.
Time of eating
Place of eating
State of Mind while eating
State of emotion while eating
To whom we eat
How much we eat?
What is the quantity of water we consume?
Dear viewers, keep waiting to know more about each topic in detail.

When we sleep in the night our body metabolism secretes lot of valuable Enzymes (In Tamil - Neena Neer and Jeeva Neer) and several blood compositions into Spleen and Stomach and Liver. These are more required for immunity power.
Let us have a deep look into the scientifically related issues. Our Stomach is very thin polythene cover like organ. Stomach secretes lot and lot of Nitric acid and Hydrochloric acid. These two acids play a key role towards food fermentation and digestion. Our Body system digests the food only through fermentation process. There is no mixi and grinder used for digestion.  All we know that, any acid kept in contact with the flesh and muscles harms us. Whereas in Stomach, these two acids are separated by the stuff called mucous gel from the stomach to protect it from external forces. When we take more water in the empty stomach it dilutes these two acids, and in turn converts to toxins which become useless for digestion. It can also disturb the mucous gel due to w…
